More than 25 years Ralf Cramer gained profound knowledge through leading management positions in various high tech and high performing companies. He evolved solid industrial expertise with a strong strategic and operational sense.
While achieving his PhD in mechanical engineering at the university of Stuttgart in 1994, Ralf Cramer worked at Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA), where he could perfectly combine research and development in robotics with consultancy in manufacturing management.
In 1996 he started his career as Executive Director for global industrial engineering at ITT Automotive, Frankfurt.
With the move to Grundig AG, Nürnberg he extended his knowledge of electronics and consumer products.
In 2002 Ralf Cramer joined the Continental Group. In several different roles such as Operations, Business Unit Manager and Division Manager he advanced the business with Safety Products and Automated Driving Functions. He was appointed as Executive Board Member of Continental AG in 2009 and held this post until 2017. He first served as global President of the Division Chassis&Safety and then lived and worked 4 years in Shanghai as President & CEO Continental China. During this time he was Chairman of the Board in several Asian Joint Venture companies. He got to know the cultural differences between East and West and how to bridge the gaps. Besides developing the company with Powertrain, Chassis&Safety, Connectivity and Electronics, he wound up the local Tires aftermarket to a substantial size.
As of 2018 Ralf Cramer started his own Industry Advisory and since then has been serving on different international company Boards.
